My parents own a class-A RV and travel often. They tend to travel somewhere every February and this year was no different. This meant that I had to tackle some major building projects on my own. Those projects included:

1. Installing the cedar plank ceiling

2. Framing out the wet bath or shower surround

3. Building a U-shaped bench seat

I spent an immense amount of time building, rebuilding, and installing all three projects. I would work on the van before work, during my lunch break, and after work. I struggled with all three projects partially because I had never done anything like that before and partially because it was just me and would have been easier with an extra set of hands. But I was determined to get all three projects completed by the time my parents returned from their trip.

What I learned from this process:

Projects are easier with an extra set of hands.

I seriously struggled this month. I could have used an extra set of eyes and hands for all three projects that I completed this month. But I was determined and so I didn’t let it hold me back.

You might have to rebuild something.

I rebuilt the bench seat three times. I framed out the shower twice before I was happy with the results. We had to rebuild things later in the van build process. Just accept that it’s going to happen because nobody is perfect.
